From the Office of the Executive Director

Dear Friends:

Welcome to the March edition of eNews. As 2007 marches on, President Bush is developing the federal budget, which is proposing much support for the development and adoption of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles. To read more about the proposed allocations, see the story, “President Bush Requests $24.3 Billion for DOE in FY 2008 Budget.”

As the federal government organizes its financial resources, many individuals across the nation are doing the same. In addition to it being tax season, it is also a popular time of year for consumers to buy vehicles. Many new incentives are being offered for hybrids, and if you are already a hybrid owner, you may be eligible for tax credits. To learn more about hybrid incentives and how to claim tax credits, read the eNews stories, “Understanding Hybrid Buying Incentives” and “IRS Offers Help Deciphering Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit.”

The members of the NAFTC visited our nation's capital in February as it held its largest business meeting of the year in Washington, D.C. I would like to thank all of the Consortium members who attended despite the wintry weather conditions. Your dedication is greatly appreciated!

Enjoy this issue of eNews, and please let us know if the NAFTC can be of service to you in any way.

Sincerely,

Al Ebron
NAFTC Executive Director
