From the Office of the Executive DirectorDear Friends: If you attended a local 2006 National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey event in October, I'm sure you'd agree with me that the third installment of Odyssey was a great success! Odyssey was celebrated by sites nationwide and abroad through a variety of exciting and informative activities promoting alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles. We thank you for your participation, and look forward to sharing specific post-event details with you in the near future. As the end of 2006 draws near, the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have released the 2007 Fuel Economy Guide, an annual publication that ranks vehicles according to their fuel economy ratings. Six hybrid vehicles occupy spots on this year's top ten list of fuel economy leaders. To learn which hybrids made the list, read our eNews story, “Hybrids Top 2007 Fuel Economy Guide." Alternative fuels continue to gain momentum and widespread popularity. This is evident by the increasing number of ethanol (E85) stations appearing across the country. In addition, access to biodiesel is becoming more user-friendly as well. The National Biodiesel Board recently initiated the Biodiesel Hotline to aid consumers in locating the fuel. More information on these developments can be found in the stories “E85 Station Numbers Increase across the Country" and “ Toll-Free Number for Biodiesel - Anywhere in the U.S." As always, if we may be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact us. Sincerely, Al Ebron
