National AFV Day Odyssey 2006 Swiftly Approaching

Attend an Odyssey Event Near You!

We are just a few days from launching National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey, and the NAFTC crew is working hard to finish up last-minute details. We hope to make Odyssey 2006 a huge success for all of our partner schools and organizations - and a worthwhile educational experience for you, our readers.

If you are not already familiar with Odyssey, this nationwide celebration is dedicated to promoting AFVs and advanced technology vehicles. Sixty sites are hosting events in the United States, Canada, and Germany, and will be featuring a variety of activities such as educational fairs, conferences, networking meals, AFV training information, and AFV ride-and-drive demonstrations for policymakers, students, fleet managers, and the public. Odyssey 2006 officially kicks off from the Arlington County (Virginia) Courthouse Plaza at 10 a.m. on October 12 in conjunction with Arlington, Virginia's Odyssey event being conducted by U.S. General Services, New West Technologies, and Virginia Clean Cities.

We have published this edition of eNews to make it easy for our readers to find an Odyssey event in their area. To find a local event, click on your state in the list, then scroll through to locate the event site nearest you. Be sure to check out the individual site pages to learn more details from the site hosts.

Join us in celebrating National AFV Day Odyssey 2006 and find out how you can reduce the dependence on foreign oil and greenhouse gas emissions through use of AFVs and advanced technology vehicles. You'll learn something new and have some fun!
