From the Office of the Executive Director

Dear Friends:

We are already into the middle of summer, and I am sure many of you have traveled hundreds of miles to and from wonderful vacation destinations throughout the country. There is no doubt that the high gasoline prices have caused some additional traveling anxiety. Unfortunately, the Energy Information Administration (EIA), a statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy, is predicting that the high price of oil and gasoline will continue through 2007. You can read more on this in our eNews article, EIA Report Predicts Continued High Oil and Gas Prices.

With no relief in sight for oil and gasoline prices, several of you may be considering an alternative fuel vehicle. Our eNews article, Internet Tools Help Consumers Locate Alternative Fuels, can help you plan your purchase and/or travels according to the availability of alternative fuels.

Planning for National AFV Day Odyssey is at its peak. With only two months away, the excitement is building, but there is still time to get on board and host a site or become a sponsor or partner on a national or local level. You can find out if there is an Odyssey event being conducted near you by visiting our Web site, www.nationalafvdayodyssey.org. If you would like to become involved or have questions as to how you can participate in Odyssey, please call or e-mail Julie Whiteman, Odyssey Event Manager, at 304-293-7882 or Julie.Whiteman@mail.wvu.edu.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer, and please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of assistance.

Sincerely,

Al Ebron
NAFTC Executive Director
