NAFTC members are preparing for their fall business meeting to be held November 2-5, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Community College of Southern Nevada (CCSN), a NAFTC member, is hosting the meeting at its Cheyenne campus, showcasing its alternative fuels automotive program.

Member representatives (automotive instructors and administrators) from across the country will come together to review progress and discuss strategy for the months to follow on topics that affect the alternative fuels organization.

Las Vegas was chosen as the location in order for consortium members to begin their five-day learning, networking, and strategizing meeting by attending the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show, the world's premier automotive specialty products trade event.

Another full day is designed to provide instructors with actual experience within the alternative fuels industry. Members will visit a hydrogen fueling station, where Dan Hyde, fleet and transportation services manager of the City of Las Vegas (Clean Cities Coordinator), will present an in-depth presentation on hydrogen and the challenges in building a hydrogen infrastructure. Later, CCSN will exhibit its Skid Car and provide a hands-on orientation and training in automotive handling techniques.
