NAFTC Wins Training Excellence Award The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) recently was awarded a Training Excellence Award for its Overview of Biodiesel course. The award, which is given annually by the Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) at their fall meeting, recognizes providers of quality automotive/truck technical training. The NAFTC's Overview of Biodiesel was critiqued in seven sections: overview of the training program, needs analysis, training program learning objectives, quality of training program materials, measurement of the training program's effectiveness, training job aids for the student to take back to the workplace, and recognition of the training program.

According to a recent report from the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the amount of gasoline displaced in 2006 was 50 percent more than the 250 million gallons in 2005. Clean Cities coalitions have set a goal of 3.2 billion gallons of gasoline displaced by 2020, and exceeding their goal of 700 million gallons this year certainly keeps them right on track.
