Trained automotive service technicians use computerized diagnostic equipment to analyze automotive systems and perform necessary repairs. A career in automotive service affords the opportunity for good pay and the satisfaction of highly skilled work with modern vehicles while incorporating the latest in high technology.
Ivy Tech Community College offers an Automotive Service concentration within the Automotive Technology program. Students who successfully complete the program will receive an associate of applied science degree or a technical certificate in Automotive Technology with a concentration in Automotive Service. The A.A.S. degree may be transferred to and applied as credit toward Indiana State University’s Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive Management.
Ivy Tech Community College East Chicago campus automotive program is a National Training Center for the NAFTC. The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium is based out of West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia.
