Alternative Fuels Index

The Alternative Fuels Index focuses on seven alternative fuel products registered and approved by the Department of Energy to meet current AF U.S. standards. These products now include biodiesel, ethanol, propane, methanol, electricity, hydrogen, and natural gas. Coverage includes: industry commentary relating to supply, price, policy and news, detailed and accurate prices and trend analysis at the wholesale level, and refined products cost comparisons.

American Hydrogen Association (AHA)

The American Hydrogen Association works in cooperation with organizations such as the National Hydrogen Association, NASA, environmental groups, industry, local governments, and public schools to promote the understanding of hydrogen technology and to create a marketplace for pollution-free hydrogen energy.

Ballard Power Systems

Ballard is recognized as the world leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing zero-emission proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells for transportation and power generation applications. Ballard is also commercializing electric drives for fuel cell and other electric vehicles, power conversion products, and is a Tier 1 automotive supplier of friction materials for power train components. Ballard works closely with strategic partners, development partners, and customers to transform its current technology leadership into market leadership in each target market.

BMW Clean Energy

California Fuel Cell Partnership

The California Fuel Cell Partnership is a collection of automobile companies, energy and fuel suppliers, fuel cell technology partners, and state and federal agencies that have joined together to demonstrate fuel cell vehicles under real-world driving conditions. The partnership will place approximately 70 fuel cell passenger cars and buses on the road between 2000 and 2003. In addition to testing the fuel cell vehicles, the Partnership will also identify fuel infrastructure issues and prepare the California market for this new technology.

CALSTART

CALSTART is dedicated to expanding the global advanced transportation industry and its related markets. CALSTART assists organizations involved in planning, developing, testing, and implementing advanced transportation and mobility programs, and advises fleet managers and other organizations interested in clean fuel vehicles.

DOE's Clean Cities Program supports public-private partnerships that deploy AFVs and build supporting alternative fuel infrastructure.
