From the Office of the Executive Director

Dear Friends:

With the first few months of 2008 in the history books, there continues to be a flurry of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicle activity. Ideas and knowledge continue to be exchanged at events such as the National Biodiesel Conference and West Virginia BioEnergy Forum, in movies such as Fields of Fuel at the Sundance Film Festival, and via new Web sites such as that by the National Hydrogen Association's Hydrogen Education Foundation. Read more in the eNews stories, "NAFTC Attends Fifth Annual National Biodiesel Board Conference," "NAFTC HQ Hosts WV BioEnergy Forum," "Biodiesel Movie Wins Sundance Film Festival Award," and "National Hydrogen Association Launches Alternative Fuel Web Site."

The automobile manufacturers also continue to contribute by developing new alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles or through forming partnerships. For examples of these endeavors, please read "Honda Plans for New Hybrid," "Toyota Mulls Hybrid Sports Car," and "GM Forms Ethanol Partnership."

Even with all the efforts and achievements in the industry, it is still important to provide education and information on alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles. As many of you know, the fourth installment of National AFV Day Odyssey will be held on October 3, 2008. This year's goal is to increase the number of Odyssey sites, partners, and sponsors so that even more individuals can learn about the importance of these vehicles. Recruitment for Odyssey sponsors, partners, and site coordinators is underway! To become involved, learn more, or if we can be of service to you in any way, please contact us!

Sincerely,

Al Ebron
NAFTC Executive Director
