I am pleased to announce that the NAFTC recently received a Training Excellence Award from the Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC). This honor was bestowed upon the Consortium's Overview of Biodiesel course, which is also endorsed by the National Biodiesel Board. The annual award is presented by the ATMC to providers of quality automotive/truck technical training. The NAFTC is also happy to deliver the news that the DOE Clean Cities coalitions collectively displaced the equivalent of 375 million gallons of gasoline in 2006, according to a recent report from the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Perhaps most impressive is that 71 percent of the displaced gasoline was attributed to the use of alternative fuel vehicles! In addition to its gasoline displacement success, Clean Cities held its annual Coordinator Leadership Retreat in September, which the NAFTC attended. Both myself and Assistant Director – Communications Judy Moore attended the event held at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky.
