{"id":238,"date":"2016-07-21T15:14:15","date_gmt":"2016-07-21T15:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aedve.info\/odyssey\/Odyssey_New\/?page_id=238"},"modified":"2023-03-01T06:38:17","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T06:38:17","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.naftc.wvu.edu\/odyssey\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"right-page-content\">\n<h2>ABOUT<\/h2>\n<p>Alternative Fuel Vehicle Odyssey was created by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium and launched in 2002 as an outreach and education event dedicated to promoting the use of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Odyssey comprised numerous green transportation related events throughout the U.S. and internationally, coordinated and hosted by NAFTC members, Clean Cities Coalitions, and others who believe in cleaner, more energy efficient forms of transportation.<\/p>\n<p>Some continue to host Odyssey events using tools and resources developed by the NAFTC available for <a href=\".\/host\">free<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"imgAbout img-responsive\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/2014-10-17_Odyssey2014_KickOff-276.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Activities Nationwide<\/h4>\n<p>Each local event site offered unique activities designed to educate attendees about cleaner transportation technologies and tailored to the specific needs of the site\u2019s given audience. Examples of such activities include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"mainList\">\n<li>ride-and-drives<\/li>\n<li>vehicle displays<\/li>\n<li>workshops<\/li>\n<li>demonstrations<\/li>\n<li>panel discussions<\/li>\n<li>trivia contests<\/li>\n<li>automotive lab tours<\/li>\n<li>EcoCar garage tours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, industry experts often were on hand at Odyssey events to answer questions, and educational seminars are frequently featured to provide detailed information about viable alternative fuel options and how they apply to the audiences\u2019 local communities.
